Global Design Project 097 | Colour Challenge

Monday 31 July 2017     Welcome to my blog today! My card is for this week's Global Design Project Colour Challenge and yes I'm just scraping in!     Colour Challenge time means that one lucky person gets to be a Guest Designer for the next colour challenge. How much fun would that be?     My inspiration came from page 97 of the Annual Catalogue for this card. I'd been looking through it for ideas and this box caught my eye.     I stamped the hearts from the "Weather Together" stamp set in Crumb Cake onto the Crumb Cake card base. "Thanks for being a great friend" from the "Window Shopping" stamp set is stamped in Wild Wasabi and layered with Wild Wasabi cardstock and vellum.     The Berry Burst hearts have been cut using the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits and once glued on I covered them with Fine-Tip Glue to give them lots of shine and dimension. A piece of Berry Burst ribbon folded in half under the sentimen

CASEing the Catty #139 Everyday Occasions

Sunday 30 July 2017   Welcome to this week's CASEing the Catty Blog Hop. Today's cards are from the Everday Occasions section (pages 18-67) of the Annual Catalogue.     I love the three cards on the right hand side and started just CASEing the top one but it was so quick and simple I was worried it wasn't enough! So I ended up making all three and came to the conclusion that sometimes quick and simple are just what you need!     All these cards have two things in common - they all use some of the Coffee Break Designer Series Paper and the base cardstock is Soft Sky. This card's sentiment is from the set that comes in the "Oh Happy Day Card Kit". I stamped it in Pear Pizzazz and Early Espresso to co-ordinate with the DSP. A sprinkle of Garden Green Enamel shapes and a bow in Whisper White Baker's Twine finishes it off. This card has the Coffee Break DSP down each side and the Naturally Eclectic DSP in the centre of the ca

Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop

Thursday 27 July 2017       Welcome to the third Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop. You are currently visiting Angela Meiritz-Reid from Christchurch, New Zealand. The theme this month is Water Colour.   I've water coloured and cut these feathers out from the Just Add Color Specialty Designer Series Paper. I also used my White Stampin' Chalk Marker to add a little lightness to some of the areas. The feathers have been coloured to co-ordinate with the Dapper Denim Color Theory DSP and a piece of DSP from the Wood Textures DSP Stack co-ordinates nicely with that.   The Just Add Color Specialty DSP is great to water colour. I went over and over it with the ink and water and was really pleased that the DSP didn't rub up, become soaked or bleed - it performed perfectly!   I wrapped the ends of the feathers with Linen Thread, stamped Happy Birthday from the Confetti Celebration stamp set in Dapper Denim, punched it out with the Classic Label punch and adh

CASEing the Catty #138 - Holidays

Sunday 23 July 2017     Yay it's Sunday again and time for another CASEing the Catty Blog Hop. This week we are CASEing the Holidays section - pages 112-125. You may have arrived here from my new and talented friend Fi - welcome!     I know you are probably thinking but it's only July I've got plenty of time! That time will roll around very quickly so why not get started now?  I love wreaths so I chose the card on the right hand side with the lovely wreath made using the Holly Berry Happiness stamp set.     As I don't have this stamp set I improvised with my Daisy Delight stamp set. I stamped the leaf in Pear Pizzazz to match the striped DSP from the Coffee Break Designer Series Paper and the little berries have been cut out in Cherry Cobbler cardstock from the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits.     The Merry Christmas stamp comes from the Teeny Tiny Sentiments set which is an absolute must have set - it has 24 sentiments in various fonts - on

Global Design Project 096 | Case the Designer

Friday 21 July 2017     Welcome to my blog! Today I'm sharing the card I made for this week's Global Design Project 096 | Case the Designer.     The designer being CASED this week is the talented and lovely Tanja Kolar. I just love her style!   "CASE = C opy A nd S electively E dit - which means you can take what you like from the design and make it your own. It might be the stamp set - the colours, the layout, the elements, whatever you like that has inspired you to make a card of your own."     My inspiration came from the layout although I also have the colour blue in my card too! And isn't she adorable? This little girl is from the Birthday Memories Designer Series Paper and reminds me of the vintage scraps my mother collected as a child and has in a scrapbook.     I used the two largest squares in the Stitched Shaped Framelits to cut the squares from the Color Theory DSP stack in Berrry Burst and the "thanks" i

Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop

Thursday 20 July 2017 Welcome to the third Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop. You are currently visiting Angela Meiritz-Reid from Christchurch, New Zealand. I hope you enjoy my card which has been CASED page 71 of the 2017-18 Annual Catalogue. I used the same stamp set "Happiest of Days" (my new favourite) and kept the layout, I just changed the colours and added some different elements. The gold foil on the card base is from the Fabulous Foil Designer Acetate sheets. This product is in the Paper Basics Section of the Catalogue, it has 6 acetate sheets with gold foil on one side, looks silver on the other and comes in 3 designs. I gold embossed the presents and sentiment to co-ordinate with the Gold Acetate Sheet, added the Calypso Coral Ombre Ribbon and coloured in using Pool Party, Calypso Coral and Peekaboo Peach.   The Stampin' Up!® catalogues are full of project ideas, tips and techniques to inspire creativity. I'm always seeing something new or

CASEing the Catty #137 - Artistic Expression

Sunday 16 July 2017 Welcome to this week's CASEing the Catty Blog Hop. Today's card is from the Artistic Expression section (pages 132-181) of Stampin' Up's! Annual Catalogue. The Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue is not just a catalogue of products but it is also full of many project ideas, tips and techniques to inspire creativity. I often browse through it and see ideas I hadn't seen before?   The inspiration for my project came from the feather card on the left hand side. I don't have the Feather Together stamp set so instead I coloured and cut out feathers from a sheet of the Just Add Color Specialty Designer Series Paper.   I chose feathers of approximately the same size and water-coloured them using my Aqua Painter and Powder Pink, Pool Party and Night of Navy Ink, then fussy cut them out!   Have you tried the Embossing Paste? It is so easy and fun to use (and doesn't make a mess)! I coloured a small amount of paste us

Global Design Project 095 | Theme Challenge

Thursday 13 July 2017     Where do the weeks go? It's the first week of the School Holidays here in Christchurch and the weather has been very wet and cold, and it even snowed yesterday - perfect crafting weather!   This week the challenge at the Global Design Project is a theme - Kids.     As I had a few classes for little girls I had ordered the "This Little Piggy" set. Each little girl made a card and bookmark to take home - they loved it! So it seemed the perfect set to use for this challenge.   My little piggy was stamped on the Shimmery White cardstock and water coloured using my Aqua Painter and the Blushing Bride ink. Then fussy cut and adhered to a Very Vanilla Stitched Shapes Framelit circle using dimensionals. The Soft Sky and Very Vanilla background DSP is from the Bundle of Love Specialty Designer Series Paper.     I stamped the "Happy Day" in Soft Sky. It is from the "Happiest of Days" stamp set. As I

Weather Together

Wednesday 12 July 2017   Hello and welcome to our International Highlights for the month of July. I am among Stampin' Up! demonstrators from around the world being highlighted by Kylie Bertucci and you are able to vote for my project. The theme this month is "Gratitude inspired by Thailand", so I looked up Thailand on Pinterest and found this gorgeous photograph of colourful umbrellas in Chiang Mai.   I immediately got out my Weather Together stamp set and the co-ordinating Umbrella Weather Framelits to create this little card with bright umbrellas. The Happy for You sentiment is from the Hostess set "In the City" and is for Kylie and Bruno as they enjoy their well earned trip to Thailand. The background has been created using the new Embossing Paste and the Cloud mask from the Pattern Party Decorative Masks set. The Embossing Paste is so easy and fun to use!   Thanks for stopping by today. If you like my card please pop over to Kyl

CASEing the Catty #136 - Thanks

Sunday 9 July 2017     I'm so excited to announce that I am now a member of the CASEing the Catty Crew! Every week the Crew Case a project from a section of the Stampin' Up! catalogue. This week's inspiration is from the Thanks section on pages 126-131.   The Delightful Daisy Suite is of course my favourite set and just happens to be in the Thanks Section! I really like the layout of the card in the front so I used that as my inspiration, I just changed the colours. The Soft Sky and Whisper White herringbone patterned DSP on the base of my card is from the Coffee Break Designer Series Paper - I just love it! I stamped the leaves in Lemon Lime Twist, the outline and the plain one are "full" strength whereas the inside one has been "stamped off" to get a lighter image. The daisy has also been "stamped off" using Berry Burst. I wrapped a piece of the Classic Weave Ribbon in Soft Sky around the base of my piece of Whisp
